Exhibition dedicated to 30th anniversary of Constitution, set up with support of AGERPRES
An exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution in force is presented at the Parliament Palace, the event being organized by the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR), with the support of the AGERPRES National News Agency, the National Archives of Romania and the Official Journal.
The exhibition includes 12 panels with photographs from the AGERPRES Archive, which capture moments from the meetings of the Constituent Assembly in 1991 and the Referendum for the adoption of the Fundamental Law in 1991. The National Archives of Romania present, in original, the Constitutions of 1866 and 1923, and the Official Journal the Constitution of 1991.
The President of the Constitutional Court, Valer Dorneanu, stated that the exhibition invites Romanians to remember their history, to value it and to be grateful to all those who contributed to the achievement of remarkable things.
According to him, the exhibition reproduces memorable historical aspects from the activity of the Constituent Assembly and, especially, from the activity of the most representative actors of those moments.
“This approach contributes to what Romanians must always do: remember their history, bring attention to it and be grateful to all those who contributed to the achievement of remarkable things. Here are selected photos with the most representative politicians of the time, statesmen, in the true sense of the word,” Dorneanu declared for AGERPRES.
The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies convened on Monday in a solemn sitting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of Romania’s Constitution in force.
On December 8, Romania celebrates Constitution Day, proclaimed by Law 120/1995, in homage to the Constitution approved by the National Referendum of December 8, 1991. In 2003, the fundamental law was revised.
